Banana Cake with Sweetened Condensed Milk

Ingredients

Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (or vegetable oil)
  • ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Topping

  • Powdered sugar
  • Condensed milk drizzle
  • Cream cheese frosting or whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prep
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch pan or a 9-inch round pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    • Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients
    • In a bowl, whisk melted butter, condensed milk, eggs, bananas, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine
    • Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
    • Do not overmix.
  5. Bake
    • Pour batter into pan.
    • Bake 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool & Serve
    • Cool in pan 15 minutes, then fully on a rack.
    • Drizzle with condensed milk or dust with powdered sugar.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra moist: Poke holes in the warm cake and drizzle ¼ cup warm condensed milk over the top.
  • Banana bread vibe: Bake in loaf pans (45–55 minutes).
  • Add-ins: Chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips.
  • Caramel touch: Swirl dulce de leche on top before baking.
