Baked Ham & Cheese Cracker Sandwiches

Ingredients (makes about 24 mini sandwiches)

  • 48 buttery crackers (Ritz-style work best)
  • 8 oz sliced ham, chopped or torn
  • 8 oz cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or Colby-Jack), sliced or shredded

Butter Topping

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  3. Place 24 crackers on the sheet.
  4. Top each cracker with ham and cheese.
  5. Cover with remaining crackers to make sandwiches.

Make the Butter Sauce

  1. In a bowl, mix melted butter, mustard, Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, and seeds.
  2. Spoon or brush generously over the tops of the cracker sandwiches.

Bake

  1. Cover loosely with foil.
  2. Bake 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted.
  3. Remove foil and bake 5 more minutes until golden and crispy.

Serve

  • Let cool slightly before serving.
  • Best enjoyed warm and gooey!

  • Sweet & savory: Add 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey to the butter sauce
