Here’s a classic quiche recipe—fluffy, savory, and endlessly customizable 🥧🧀🥓


🥧 Basic Quiche

Ingredients (for 1 9-inch quiche)

Crust (optional, you can also make a crustless quiche)

  • 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Filling

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) milk or half-and-half
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère)
  • 1 cup cooked fillings (bacon, ham, sautéed vegetables, spinach, mushrooms, etc.)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • If using a pie crust, blind-bake for 8–10 minutes to prevent sogginess.
  2. Prepare filling
    • In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
    • Layer cheese and cooked fillings evenly in the pie crust or baking dish.
    • Pour egg mixture over the top.
  3. Bake
    • Bake 35–45 minutes, until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
    • A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
  4. Cool & serve
    • Let quiche cool 5–10 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips

  • Avoid watery vegetables—sauté or drain them before adding.
  • For a lighter version, use milk instead of cream.
  • Crustless quiche is faster and lower-carb—just grease the pan well.
