White chocolate

🍫 What Is White Chocolate?

White chocolate is made from:

  • Cocoa butter (the fat from cocoa beans)
  • Sugar
  • Milk solids
  • Vanilla or flavoring

Unlike milk or dark chocolate, it does not contain cocoa solids, which is why it’s creamy, sweet, and pale ivory in color.

Good-quality white chocolate should list cocoa butter (not just vegetable oils) as the main fat.

🔥 How to Melt White Chocolate (Without Burning It)

White chocolate is more delicate than dark chocolate. Here’s the safe way:

Microwave Method

  1. Chop chocolate into small pieces.
  2. Microwave 15–20 seconds at a time, stirring between each.
  3. Stop when it’s 90% melted, then stir until smooth.

Double Boiler Method

  1. Place chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Set it over a pot of gently simmering water (don’t let bowl touch water).
  3. Stir until melted and smooth.

Tip: Add 1 tsp coconut oil or butter to make it smoother.
