Tortilla wraps with ground beef

Here’s a simple and tasty way to make tortilla wraps with ground beef:


Ingredients (for 4 wraps):

  • 4 large tortillas (flour or whole wheat)
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional, for a mild kick)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • Lettuce leaves, shredded
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or yogurt (optional)
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Cook the beef:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until soft (2–3 minutes).
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
    • Stir in chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  2. Prepare tortillas:
    • Warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave for 20–30 seconds to make them pliable.
  3. Assemble wraps:
    • Place a few lettuce leaves on the tortilla.
    • Spoon the cooked ground beef over the lettuce.
    • Add diced tomato and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
    • Top with sour cream or yogurt if desired.
  4. Wrap and serve:
    • Fold the sides over and roll tightly.
    • Cut in half if you like and serve immediately.

💡 Tips for extra flavor:

  • Add some sliced avocado, jalapeños, or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • You can also include sautéed bell peppers or corn for a veggie boost.
