Tollhouse famous fudge

Here’s a classic Toll House Famous Fudge recipe—the rich, chocolatey treat that’s quick, easy, and perfect for holidays or anytime you want a sweet indulgence.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups (12 oz / 340 g) semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 (14 oz / 396 g) can sweetened condensed milk

  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 56 g) unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or your choice)


Instructions

1. Prepare the pan:

  • Line an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking pan with foil or parchment paper.

  • Grease lightly with butter or nonstick spray.

2. Melt the chocolate mixture:

  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.

  2. Stir constantly until smooth and fully melted.

3. Add flavorings:

  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

  • Fold in nuts, if using.

4. Pour and chill:

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

5. Cut and serve:

  • Lift the fudge from the pan using the foil or parchment.

  • Cut into squares and serve.


Tips

  • For extra richness, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before chilling.

  • You can also add mini marshmallows or swirl in peanut butter for a variation.

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
