Steak Foil Packets

Steak Foil Packets are an easy, flavorful, and mess-free meal — perfect for grilling, baking, or campfire cooking! Here’s a simple, customizable recipe:


🥩 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1½ lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank), cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved or quartered if large

  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 small red onion, chopped

  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

  • 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (or a mix of thyme, rosemary, oregano)

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional for extra flavor)

  • Fresh parsley, for garnish


🔥 Instructions

1. Prep the foil

  • Cut 4 large pieces of heavy-duty aluminum foil (about 12×18 inches each).

  • Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray or brush with oil.

2. Mix the ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine steak cubes, potatoes, bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms.

  • Add olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, herbs, and Worcestershire sauce. Toss until evenly coated.

3. Assemble the packets

  • Divide the mixture evenly among the foil sheets.

  • Fold the sides of the foil over the mixture, sealing tightly to form packets.

4. Cook

Option 1 – Grill:

  • Preheat grill to medium-high (400°F).

  • Place packets on the grill and cook for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Option 2 – Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • Place packets on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and steak reaches desired doneness.

Option 3 – Campfire:

  • Place packets on hot coals and cook for 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally.

5. Serve

  • Carefully open the packets (watch for steam!).

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of shredded cheese, if desired.


🍄 Optional Add-ins

  • Corn kernels or baby corn

  • Zucchini or asparagus pieces

  • A drizzle of BBQ sauce or garlic butter before sealing
