Spinach puffs

Posted on November 16, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Spinach Puffs—flaky, cheesy, and perfect as an appetizer or snack.

🥬 Spinach Puffs

Makes 12–16 puffs

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (or ½ cup frozen, thawed and drained)
  • ½ cup feta cheese (crumbled)
  • ¼ cup cream cheese or ricotta
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the filling

  1. In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft (if using).
  2. Add spinach and cook until wilted (or thawed and drained if using frozen).
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Mix in feta, cream cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

3. Assemble the puffs

  1. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  2. Cut into 3×3 inch squares (or circles using a cookie cutter).
  3. Place 1–2 tsp of spinach mixture in the center of each square.
  4. Fold into triangles or rectangles and press edges with a fork to seal.

4. Egg wash

  • Beat the egg and brush over each puff for a golden finish.

5. Bake

  • Bake 15–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.

Tips

  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
  • You can add shredded mozzarella or parmesan for extra cheesiness.
  • For a bite-sized version, cut pastry into smaller squares—great for parties!

If you want, I can also give a quick 3-ingredient version of spinach puffs for ultra-fast prep.

Do you want me to do that?
