🥩 Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

Patties

  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper

Gravy

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Mix patties ingredients gently and shape into oval patties.
  2. Brown patties in a skillet (2–3 min per side). This step = better flavor.
  3. Layer onions and mushrooms in the slow cooker.
  4. Place patties on top. Pour in beef broth and sprinkle onion soup mix over.
  5. Cook on LOW 6–7 hours or HIGH 3–4 hours.
  6. Stir cornstarch slurry into the gravy, cover, and cook 20–30 minutes until thickened.

🍽️ Serve with

  • Mashed potatoes (non-negotiable)
  • Egg noodles or rice
  • Green beans or peas on the side

🔥 Pro tips

  • Don’t overmix the beef—keeps patties tender
  • If gravy’s too thick, thin with a splash of broth
  • Leftovers are even better the next day
