Slow Cooker Beer Bread
Ingredients
- 3 cups self-rising flour
(or see swap below) - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 (12 oz) beer (lager, ale, or light beer — room temp)
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
Optional Add-Ins
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- Jalapeños or herbs
Instructions
- Prep Slow Cooker
- Line slow cooker with parchment paper or grease very well.
- Mix Dough
- In a bowl, stir self-rising flour and sugar.
- Pour in beer and mix just until combined (don’t overmix).
- Cook
- Pour batter into slow cooker.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Cover and cook on:
- HIGH: 2–2½ hours
- LOW: 3–4 hours
- Bread is done when a toothpick comes out clean and top is firm.
- Optional Crisp Top
- For a golden crust, transfer bread to oven broiler 2–3 minutes after cooking.
- Cool & Serve
- Let rest 10 minutes, then slice.
