Classic Sausage Cheese Balls
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork sausage (breakfast sausage works best)
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
- 2 cups Bisquick (or baking mix)
- ¼–½ cup milk (just enough to bind)
Directions
- Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix everything together (hands work best).
- Roll into 1–1½ inch balls.
- Place on lined baking sheet.
- Bake 18–22 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
- Cool 5 minutes… then try not to eat them all.
Easy Upgrades
- Spicy: Hot sausage or a pinch of cayenne
- Garlic: ½ tsp garlic powder
- Herby: Chopped chives or parsley
- Extra cheesy: Mix in pepper jack or mozzarella
- No Bisquick: Use 1½ cups flour + 1½ tsp baking powder + ½ tsp salt
