Here’s a moist, flavorful Pumpkin Banana Bread recipe that always comes out perfect—warm spices, banana sweetness, and pumpkin richness in one loaf.


🎃🍌 Pumpkin Banana Bread

Makes: 1 loaf
Bake time: 55–65 minutes


🧂 Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • ½ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup brown sugar (or white sugar)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp cloves (optional)
  • ¼ tsp ginger (optional)
  • Optional add-ins:
    • ½ cup chocolate chips
    • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
    • ½ cup raisins or dried cranberries

🔪 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

2. Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together:

  • Bananas
  • Pumpkin purée
  • Melted butter/oil
  • Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract

Mix until smooth.

3. Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine:

  • Flour
  • Baking soda
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg, cloves, ginger

Whisk well.

4. Combine

  • Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
  • Stir until just combined—don’t overmix.
  • Fold in any add-ins.

5. Bake

  • Pour batter into the loaf pan.
  • Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

⭐ Tips for Best Results

  • Extra ripe, spotty bananas = sweeter and more flavorful.
  • For even more moisture, add 2–3 tbsp sour cream or yogurt.
  • Makes great muffins—bake at 350°F for 18–22 minutes.
