Pork chop

Here’s a simple and delicious way to prepare pork chops, with a few different cooking methods and flavor options. 🥩🍴

Pan-Seared Pork Chops

Servings: 2–4

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15–20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2–4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the chops:

    • Pat pork chops dry with paper towels.

    • Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

  2. Cook the chops:

    • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add pork chops and sear for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

    • Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for juicy, slightly pink center.

  3. Rest:

    • Let pork chops rest for 3–5 minutes before serving to retain juices.

Optional Sauce Ideas:

  • Mushroom Cream Sauce: Sauté mushrooms in butter, add garlic, cream, and a splash of white wine. Pour over chops.

  • Apple Pan Sauce: Cook sliced apples in skillet, add cider or apple juice, a dash of mustard, and a little butter.

  • Garlic Herb Butter: Mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped herbs, then melt over hot chops.

Other Cooking Methods:

  • Oven-Baked: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, depending on thickness.

  • Grilled: Grill over medium heat for 4–6 minutes per side.

I can also give a full dinner-ready recipe with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies that pairs perfectly with pork chops. Do you want that version?
