Oh yes 😎 Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf—all the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak packed into a juicy, savory meatloaf. Cheese, peppers, onions, and tender beef in every bite.


🥩 Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Ingredients (4–6 servings):

Meatloaf:

  • 1½ lb (700 g) ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Cheesesteak Filling:

  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (green or a mix)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil
  • 4–6 slices provolone cheese

Optional topping:

  • Extra provolone slices
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Cook veggies:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Sauté onions, peppers, and mushrooms until soft, about 5–7 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare meatloaf mixture:
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, and seasonings. Mix until just combined.
  4. Assemble meatloaf:
    • Press half the meat mixture into the loaf pan.
    • Layer sautéed veggies evenly on top.
    • Lay provolone slices over the veggies.
    • Cover with remaining meat mixture, pressing gently to seal.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake 55–65 minutes or until internal temp reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Add extra cheese (optional):
    • In the last 5 minutes of baking, add additional cheese on top.
  7. Rest & serve:
    • Let meatloaf rest 5–10 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a side salad.

Tips & Variations:

  • Cheesy pull-apart version: Bake in a 9×13 pan and slice into squares.
  • Spicy twist: Add a dash of hot sauce or crushed red pepper to the meat mixture.
  • Quick skillet version: Form individual mini meatloaves in a skillet and cook on the stovetop for smaller portions.
