🥜 Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

Makes about 24 cookies

  • 1 cup (240 g) peanut butter (creamy or chunky)

  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • Optional: pinch of salt (if using unsalted peanut butter)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix the dough

  1. In a bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.

  2. Stir in baking soda (and salt if needed).

  3. Mix until smooth and well combined.

3. Shape the cookies

  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls.

  • Place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Flatten slightly with a fork in a crisscross pattern.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.

  • Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
