Cheesy Pasta Shells with Ground Beef

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • 1 lb (450 g) pasta shells
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef

  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional: parmesan for topping)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add sauce: Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5–10 minutes. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
  4. Combine: Mix the cooked pasta shells with the beef sauce.
  5. Add cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella over the top and either stir it in until melted or bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Optional extras:

  • Add chopped bell peppers or mushrooms to the beef mixture.
  • Sprinkle fresh basil or parsley on top for extra flavor.
