Parmesan Meatloaf

Here’s a tasty Parmesan Meatloaf recipe — moist, cheesy, and packed with flavor! 🧀🍖


Parmesan Meatloaf

Servings: 6

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour


Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lb (680 g) ground beef (or mix of beef and pork)

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ cup milk

  • 2 tbsp ketchup (plus extra for topping)

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (optional, for pan greasing)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the meatloaf mixture:

    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, egg, milk, ketchup, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

    • Mix gently until ingredients are combined (avoid overmixing to keep it tender).

  3. Shape and bake:

    • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in the prepared pan.

    • Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top for glaze.

    • Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  4. Rest and serve:

    • Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

    • Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a side salad.


Tips & Variations:

  • 🧄 Garlic Parmesan: Add extra 1–2 cloves garlic for a stronger flavor.

  • 🌿 Herby meatloaf: Mix in fresh parsley, basil, or oregano.

  • 🧅 Vegetable boost: Add finely grated carrot or zucchini to the mixture for moisture and nutrients.

  • 🥫 Sauce variation: Use barbecue sauce or tomato sauce instead of ketchup for a different glaze.
