No-bake homemade crunch bars

Here’s a simple no-bake homemade crunch bar recipe—very close to the classic chocolate crunch bar, but easy to customize 🍫


No-Bake Chocolate Crunch Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (or butter)
  • 2½ cups crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Optional Add-ins

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter

Instructions

  1. Line a pan
    Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate
    Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil together (microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring, or use a double boiler).
  3. Mix in cereal
    Stir in crispy rice cereal (and any add-ins) until fully coated.
  4. Press into pan
    Spread mixture evenly into the pan and press down firmly.
  5. Chill
    Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes until set.
  6. Slice & enjoy
    Lift out, cut into bars, and serve.

Tips

  • For extra snap, use tempered chocolate or add 1–2 tbsp cocoa butter.
  • Want a healthier version? Use dark chocolate (70%+) and unsweetened cereal.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
