Here’s a simple, classic muffin recipe that’s easy and customizable 🧁


Basic Muffin Recipe (Makes ~12 muffins)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional add-ins (choose 1–2):

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • ½ cup mashed banana or grated apple

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin or grease it.
  2. In a bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix wet ingredients: oil, egg, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently. Do not overmix (lumps are okay).
  5. Fold in your chosen add-ins.
  6. Fill muffin cups about ¾ full.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes, then enjoy!

Quick Tips

  • For taller muffins: rest the batter 10 minutes before baking.
  • For crunchy tops: sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking.
  • For healthier muffins: replace half the flour with whole wheat flour.
