Here’s a Mounds Brownies recipe—rich chocolate brownies topped with coconut and a chocolate drizzle, inspired by the classic Mounds candy bar. 🍫🥥

Ingredients

Brownie base

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (35 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Coconut topping

  • 1 1/2 cups (150 g) shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate drizzle / topping

  • 1/2 cup (90 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare brownies
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease an 8×8-inch pan or line with parchment paper.
    • Melt butter, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
    • Add cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
    • Spread batter evenly in the pan.
    • Bake 20–25 minutes (brownies will be slightly underbaked for a fudgy base).
    • Let cool slightly.
  2. Make coconut layer
    • Mix shredded coconut, condensed milk, and vanilla.
    • Spread evenly over cooled brownies.
  3. Chocolate topping
    • Melt chocolate chips with oil or butter until smooth.
    • Drizzle or spread over the coconut layer.
  4. Chill & serve
    • Refrigerate 30–60 minutes to set.
    • Cut into squares and enjoy!

Tips

  • For extra texture, sprinkle toasted coconut on top before the chocolate sets.
  • You can add a pinch of salt to the chocolate topping to balance the sweetness.
  • Use a serrated knife for clean slices.
