Maple glazed cookies

Posted on November 18, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a soft, buttery Maple-Glazed Cookie recipe that tastes like fall in every bite — tender centers, crisp edges, and a rich maple icing that sets beautifully.

🍁 Maple Glazed Cookies

⭐ What They’re Like

Soft, chewy sugar-style cookies infused with maple, topped with a silky maple glaze that hardens just enough to stay glossy.

🧾 Ingredients

For the Cookies

  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp real maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional but lovely)

For the Maple Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (optional for richness)
  • 1–2 tsp milk or cream (as needed for texture)
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ tsp maple extract (optional but boosts flavor)

🔥 Instructions

1. Make the cookie dough

  1. Cream butter + both sugars until fluffy (1–2 minutes).
  2. Beat in egg, maple syrup, and vanilla.
  3. Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix just until combined.
  5. Chill dough 30 minutes (prevents spreading).

2. Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Scoop 1–1½ tbsp balls onto lined sheet.
  3. Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly underdone (they’ll finish setting as they cool).
  4. Cool completely before glazing.

3. Make the Maple Glaze

  1. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, and salt.
  2. Add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until smooth + pourable but thick enough to cling to cookies.
  3. Add maple extract if using.

4. Glaze the cookies

  • Dip the top of each cookie into glaze or drizzle it on.
  • Let sit 20–30 minutes until the glaze sets.

🍁 Tips & Variations

  • Extra maple punch: Add ½ tsp maple extract to the dough.
  • Brown butter version: Brown the butter first for nutty caramel flavor.
  • Add-ins: Chopped pecans or a dash of nutmeg in the dough.
  • Maple leaf style: Use a maple leaf cookie cutter + glaze with lines for decoration.
