Ingredients

Brownie layer

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Cheesecake layer

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Whipped cream
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries or fresh cherries

Instructions

  1. Prepare brownie layer
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan.
    • Mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder.
    • Spread evenly in the pan.
  2. Make cheesecake layer
    • Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Gently spread over the brownie batter.
  3. Bake
    • Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the cheesecake layer is set.
    • Cool completely, then refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  4. Serve “Hot Fudge Sundae” style
    • Cut into squares.
    • Warm brownie slightly if desired.
    • Drizzle hot fudge over each piece.
    • Top with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry.
