Heaven on Earth Cake
Ingredients
- 1 store-bought angel food cake (or homemade), cut into cubes
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
- 1 (3.4 oz) box vanilla instant pudding mix
- 1½ cups cold milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
- Slivered almonds or white chocolate shavings (optional)
Instructions
- Make pudding layer
- Whisk pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes.
- Fold in sour cream until smooth.
- Layer the cake
- Spread half the cake cubes in the bottom of a 9×13 dish.
- Spoon half the cherry pie filling over cake.
- Spread half the pudding mixture on top.
- Repeat layers
- Add remaining cake, cherries, then pudding mixture.
- Top
- Spread whipped topping evenly over the top.
- Garnish with almonds or chocolate if desired.
- Chill
- Refrigerate at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
