🍗 Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

🧺 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2½–3 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda — this makes them super crispy)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: pinch of paprika or cayenne for a little color or heat

🧈 Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated if possible)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (fresh or dried)

🔪 Instructions

1. Preheat oven or air fryer

  • Oven: 425°F (220°C); line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • Air fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C).

2. Prep the wings

  • Pat wings very dry with paper towels — moisture prevents crisping.
  • In a large bowl, toss with baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.

3. Cook

  • Oven: Arrange wings on the rack in a single layer.
    Bake 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  • Air fryer: Cook in batches for 18–22 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.

4. Make the garlic butter

  • While wings cook, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and cook about 30 seconds, until fragrant (don’t brown it).
  • Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan and parsley.

5. Toss & serve

  • When wings are done, place them in a large bowl.
  • Pour the garlic Parmesan butter over and toss well to coat.
  • Sprinkle with a bit more Parmesan and parsley before serving.

  • Extra crispy: Broil wings for 1–2 minutes at the end.
  • Zesty flavor: Add a squeeze of lemon or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
  • Spicy twist: Stir 1 tsp hot sauce into the butter mixture.
