Garlic Mushroom Kabobs are a quick, flavorful, and crowd-pleasing dish — perfect for grilling season or an easy oven-baked appetizer. Here’s a simple recipe:


🌿 Garlic Mushroom Kabobs Recipe

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10–15 minutes


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for umami flavor)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (or 1 tbsp fresh herbs, chopped)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Wooden or metal skewers


Instructions

  1. Prep the Mushrooms:
    If mushrooms are large, cut them in half; smaller ones can stay whole.

  2. Make the Marinade:
    In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice (or vinegar), herbs, salt, and pepper.

  3. Marinate:
    Add mushrooms and toss to coat evenly. Let them marinate for 20–30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge) for deeper flavor.

  4. Skewer:
    Thread the mushrooms onto skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes first to prevent burning.

  5. Grill or Bake:

    • Grill: Cook over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until golden and tender.

    • Oven: Roast at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, turning once halfway through.

  6. Serve:
    Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra squeeze of lemon juice. Serve hot as a side dish or appetizer.


🍽️ Optional Add-ins

  • Add bell pepper, onion, or cherry tomatoes to the skewers.

  • Sprinkle with parmesan or drizzle with garlic butter before serving.
