Posted on November 18, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a restaurant-level, easy weeknight recipe for Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Creamy Mash — rich, comforting, and ready in about 30 minutes.

🥩 Garlic Butter Steak Bites & Creamy Mashed Potatoes

⭐ Ingredients

For the Steak Bites

  • 1–1.5 lb sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional: ½ tsp smoked paprika, ½ tsp chili flakes, or fresh parsley for garnish

For the Mash

  • 2 lbs potatoes (Yukon gold = creamy, russet = fluffy)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ½–¾ cup warm milk or cream
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional: 2–3 cloves roasted garlic for extra flavor

🔥 Instructions

1. Make the Mashed Potatoes

  1. Peel (optional) and chop potatoes into chunks.
  2. Add to salted boiling water; cook 12–15 minutes until very soft.
  3. Drain and mash with butter + warm milk/cream.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and (optional) roasted garlic.
  5. Keep warm while you cook the steak.

2. Make the Garlic Butter Steak Bites

  1. Pat steak dry (super important for browning).
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and optional paprika.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large hot skillet.
  4. Add steak bites in a single layer (work in batches).
  5. Sear 1–2 minutes per side until browned but still juicy.
  6. Remove steak; lower heat.
  7. Add butter + garlic to the pan; cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Return steak to skillet and toss in the garlic butter.
  9. Garnish with parsley if you like.

🍽️ Serve

Plate a generous scoop of mash, top with those buttery, garlicky steak bites, and spoon extra garlic butter from the pan over the top.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Make it creamy-garlic mash: Add cream cheese or roasted garlic.
  • Make it spicy: Add chili flakes when melting the butter.
  • Add veggies: Serve with seared green beans, roasted broccoli, or corn.
  • Use leftover mash: Great for next-day potato cakes.
