Classic Garlic Bread

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread (or baguette)
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced (or more if you like it garlicky)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2: Make garlic butter

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt.
  2. Optional: Stir in Parmesan for cheesy garlic bread.

Step 3: Prepare the bread

  1. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise.
  2. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides.

Step 4: Bake

  1. Place bread on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  2. Bake 10–15 minutes until the butter is melted and the edges are slightly golden.
  3. For extra crispiness, switch to broil for 1–2 minutes at the end—watch closely so it doesn’t burn.

Step 5: Serve

  • Slice and serve warm. Perfect with pasta, soups, or salads!

💡 Tips:

  • For a softer garlic bread, wrap the loaf in foil before baking.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick.
  • Can make ahead: spread butter on bread, wrap in foil, refrigerate, and bake when ready.
