French dip tortilla roll ups

Posted on December 16, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for French Dip Tortilla Roll-Ups—perfect for appetizers, lunch, or game-day snacks:

Ingredients (makes ~8 roll-ups)

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 8 oz (225 g) thinly sliced roast beef
  • 4 oz (115 g) Swiss or provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp horseradish sauce (optional, for a kick)
  • 1/4 cup caramelized onions or sautéed onions (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For dipping (Au jus):

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Prep the tortillas

  • In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese with horseradish (if using) and black pepper.
  • Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over each tortilla.

2. Layer fillings

  • Place slices of roast beef evenly over each tortilla.
  • Add cheese slices and caramelized onions, if using.

3. Roll and slice

  • Roll each tortilla tightly into a log.
  • Slice each log into 2–3 inch pinwheels.

4. Bake (optional, for melted cheese)

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place roll-ups on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until cheese melts and edges are slightly golden.

5. Prepare au jus for dipping

  • In a small saucepan, heat beef broth and Worcestershire sauce until warm.
  • Pour into small bowls for dipping.

6. Serve

  • Arrange pinwheels on a platter and serve warm with au jus on the side.

Tips

  • Make ahead: Assemble tortillas and refrigerate; bake right before serving.
  • Variations: Add sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or Dijon mustard for extra flavor.
  • Cheese options: Swiss, provolone, or cheddar all work well.

I can also give a quick no-bake version that’s ready in under 10 minutes and still tastes like French dip.

Do you want me to give that version?
