Easy Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy

Ah, Gumdrop Nougat Candy—sweet, colorful, and perfect for Christmas! Here’s an easy, no-fuss recipe you can make at home.


Ingredients

  • Marshmallows: 4 cups mini (or 8 large, chopped)
  • Butter: 2 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar: 1 cup, plus extra for dusting
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • Gumdrops: 1–1½ cups, chopped
  • Optional: nuts (like chopped pecans or walnuts), for added crunch

Instructions

  1. Prepare pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. Melt marshmallows: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter and marshmallows, stirring constantly until smooth.
  3. Add flavoring: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in sugar & gumdrops: Gradually fold in powdered sugar until combined. Then gently fold in chopped gumdrops (and nuts if using).
  5. Transfer to pan: Pour mixture into prepared pan and press gently to flatten evenly.
  6. Cool & cut: Let set at room temperature for 1–2 hours, or refrigerate for faster setting. Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking, then cut into squares or rectangles.

  • For extra festive flair, use multi-colored gumdrops or holiday-themed sprinkles.
  • Don’t overheat the marshmallows—just melt until smooth to keep nougat soft and chewy.
  • Store in an airtight container; lasts about a week.
