Here’s a super easy Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy recipe that’s perfect for holiday gifting or just enjoying around the house! It’s colorful, sweet, and chewy with a touch of nostalgia. 🎄🍬

🍬 Easy Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy

Makes: About 36 pieces
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 2–3 hours

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped gumdrops (the colorful candy variety)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with wax paper or parchment paper. This will help you easily lift the candy out once it’s set.
  2. Melt the butter and marshmallows:
    • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and mini marshmallows, stirring frequently, until smooth and completely melted.
  3. Mix in the condensed milk and vanilla:
    • Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Continue to cook for another minute or two, stirring until everything is fully incorporated.
  4. Add the powdered sugar:
    • Gradually add the powdered sugar to the mixture, stirring continuously. The mixture will become thick and sticky — keep stirring until it’s smooth and dough-like.
  5. Add gumdrops and nuts:
    • Fold in the chopped gumdrops and nuts (if using). Be gentle so you don’t crush the gumdrops too much.
  6. Press into the pan:
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to press it evenly into the dish, smoothing the top.
  7. Chill and set:
    • Refrigerate for 2–3 hours, or until firm and set.
  8. Cut and serve:
    • Once set, remove the nougat from the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into small squares (about 1-inch pieces). Store in an airtight container.

Tips

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or store in the fridge for longer shelf life.
  • Add-ins: You can swap out nuts for other holiday favorites like chopped dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, etc.) or even mini chocolate chips for a twist!
  • Gumdrop flavor: Try to get a good mix of colorful gumdrops for a festive, holiday touch!

This candy is sweet, chewy, and has a beautiful pop of color from the gumdrops. It’s a fun and easy treat for the holiday season!

Would you like a version with chocolate or more nuts for added crunch? Just let me know!
