  3. In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in cocoa powder and Coca-Cola. Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat.
  4. Pour hot mixture over dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  5. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  7. Bake 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.

Make the Frosting

  1. About 5 minutes before cake is done, melt butter in a saucepan.
  2. Stir in cocoa powder and Coca-Cola; bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.

Finish

  • Pour warm frosting over the hot cake.
  • Spread evenly and let set slightly before serving.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra chocolate: Add ½ cup chocolate chips to the batter.
  • Nut lovers: Sprinkle chopped pecans over the frosting while warm.
  • Ultra moist: Don’t overbake—this cake should be soft and fudgy.

This cake gets even better the next day… if it lasts that long 😏
