🍚 Rice Pudding

Rice pudding is a sweet, comforting dessert made by cooking Rice in milk with sugar and flavorings until creamy. It’s enjoyed worldwide in many variations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice (short-grain is best)
  • 4 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon or nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: raisins, nutmeg, or zest of lemon/orange

How to Make Rice Pudding

  1. Cook the rice
    Boil rice in milk over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
  2. Add sugar and flavorings
    Stir in sugar, vanilla, and spices. Add raisins or citrus zest if desired.
  3. Simmer
    Cook until rice is tender and the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency (about 25–30 minutes).
  4. Serve
    Can be served warm or chilled. Sprinkle extra cinnamon on top before serving.

Tips for Best Rice Pudding

  • Use short-grain rice for a creamier texture.
  • Stir frequently to prevent burning on the bottom.
  • For extra richness, stir in cream or condensed milk near the end.
