Ingredients

Filling

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup finely chopped strawberries (fresh or thawed frozen, patted dry)

Wontons

  • 24–30 wonton wrappers
  • Water or beaten egg (for sealing)

For Frying

  • Vegetable or canola oil

Optional Toppings

  • Powdered sugar
  • Strawberry sauce
  • Chocolate drizzle
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

1. Make the Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
  3. Chill for 15–20 minutes (this makes filling easier).

2. Fill the Wontons

  1. Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface.
  2. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center.
  3. Lightly wet the edges with water or egg.
  4. Fold into a triangle or bring corners together to form a pouch.
  5. Press firmly to seal—no gaps, or they’ll leak.

3. Fry

  1. Heat oil to 350°F / 175°C (medium heat).
  2. Fry wontons in small batches for 1½–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Serve

  • Dust with powdered sugar
  • Drizzle with strawberry or chocolate sauce
  • Serve warm for best flavor

Tips

  • Don’t overfill—less is better
  • Keep unused wrappers covered so they don’t dry out
  • You can air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway
