Cream cheese spread with vegetables and herbs

Here’s a simple, fresh cream cheese spread with vegetables and herbs—great for bread, crackers, bagels, or as a dip 🥖🥒

Ingredients

  • 200 g (7 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2–3 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional, for a lighter texture)
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped cucumber or bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped carrot or radish
  • 1–2 tbsp finely chopped green onion or chives
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder or a small clove of garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Soften & mix: In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Mix in sour cream or yogurt if using.
  2. Add vegetables & herbs: Stir in all chopped vegetables and herbs.
  3. Season: Add lemon juice, salt, pepper, and garlic (if using). Mix well.
  4. Chill: Let it rest in the fridge for 20–30 minutes to let flavors develop.

Variations

  • Mediterranean: Add chopped olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and oregano
  • Spicy: Add chili flakes or finely chopped jalapeño 🌶️
  • Extra herby: Mix in basil, tarragon, or cilantro
  • Vegan: Use plant-based cream cheese
