Crazy Dough bread

Here’s a simple and fun Crazy Dough Bread recipe — soft, fluffy, and quick to make! 🍞✨


Crazy Dough Bread

Yields: 1 loaf or 2 small loaves

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Rise Time: 1–1.5 hours

Bake Time: 25–30 minutes


Ingredients:

  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 ½–3 cups all-purpose flour


Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:

    • In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water.

    • Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.

  2. Mix dough:

    • Add oil, salt, and 2 ½ cups flour.

    • Stir until dough forms.

    • Gradually add remaining flour as needed — dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.

  3. First rise:

    • Cover bowl with a damp towel or plastic wrap.

    • Let dough rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, until doubled in size.

  4. Shape the bread:

    • Punch down dough and turn onto a floured surface.

    • Shape into a loaf or divide into smaller loaves.

    • Place in a greased loaf pan.

  5. Second rise:

    • Cover and let rise 15–20 minutes while preheating oven to 375°F (190°C).

  6. Bake:

    • Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.

    • Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.


Tips & Variations:

  • 🥖 Garlic or herb bread: Mix in 1–2 tsp garlic powder, rosemary, or Italian seasoning.

  • 🧈 Soft crust: Brush with melted butter immediately after baking.

  • 🌾 Whole wheat twist: Substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.

  • 🍞 Mini loaves or rolls: Shape dough into rolls for individual servings.
