Crab salad

Posted on December 6, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple, fresh, and delicious crab salad—perfect for sandwiches, dipping, or serving over greens.

🦀 Classic Crab Salad

Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

  • 8 oz (225 g) crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sour cream (optional, creamier texture)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1–2 celery stalks, finely diced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning (or paprika + a pinch of cayenne)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh dill or parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the crab:
Gently break apart the crab meat into bite-sized pieces. If using imitation crab, shred or chop it.
  2. Mix the dressing:
In a bowl, combine mayo, sour cream, mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine:
Add celery, green onions, and crab to the dressing. Fold gently to avoid breaking up the crab too much.
  4. Chill:
Refrigerate 20–30 minutes for flavors to meld.
  5. Serve:
Great on its own, in a sandwich, with crackers, or over a bed of lettuce.

⭐ Variations

• Spicy crab salad: add sriracha or cayenne.
• Japanese-style: add Kewpie mayo, cucumber, and a dash of rice vinegar.
• Tropical: add diced mango + cilantro.
• Keto-friendly: use all mayo, no sour cream, and serve in avocado halves.
