Here’s a simple, fresh, and delicious crab salad—perfect for sandwiches, dipping, or serving over greens.
🦀 Classic Crab Salad
Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
- 8 oz (225 g) crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sour cream (optional, creamier texture)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1–2 celery stalks, finely diced
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning (or paprika + a pinch of cayenne)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh dill or parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the crab:
Gently break apart the crab meat into bite-sized pieces. If using imitation crab, shred or chop it. - Mix the dressing:
In a bowl, combine mayo, sour cream, mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay, salt, and pepper. - Combine:
Add celery, green onions, and crab to the dressing. Fold gently to avoid breaking up the crab too much. - Chill:
Refrigerate 20–30 minutes for flavors to meld. - Serve:
Great on its own, in a sandwich, with crackers, or over a bed of lettuce.
