Soft, sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth—Cinnamon Sugar Donuts 🍩✨
Here’s an easy way to make them at home, either baked or fried.
Cinnamon Sugar Donuts (Baked Version)
Ingredients
Donuts
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
- ½ cup sugar
- 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2–3 tbsp melted butter (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients; stir until just mixed.
- Spoon batter into donut pan (fill about ¾ full).
- Bake 12–15 minutes, until lightly golden. Let cool 5 minutes.
- Brush donuts with melted butter, then toss in cinnamon sugar mixture.
Optional Variations
- 🍫 Drizzle with chocolate glaze instead of cinnamon sugar
- 🍎 Add a touch of apple or pumpkin puree to the batter
- 🍩 Fry the batter in hot oil for traditional donuts
Tips
- Don’t overmix the batter—keeps donuts light and fluffy
- Freshly baked donuts are best eaten the same day
- Mini donut pans work well for bite-sized treats
I can also give a quick skillet/fried version that doesn’t require a donut pan if you want. Do you want me to do that?
