Churro stuffed french toast with cinnamon sugar

Posted on December 6, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a decadent Churro-Stuffed French Toast recipe — crispy outside, gooey inside, with that signature cinnamon-sugar coating.

🍩 Churro-Stuffed French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar

Ingredients (2–3 servings)

For the French toast

  • 4 thick slices of bread (brioche or Texas toast work best)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

For the churro filling

  • 4–6 store-bought or homemade churros, chopped into small pieces
  • 2–3 tbsp cream cheese or Nutella (optional, for extra gooeyness)

Cinnamon-sugar coating

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon

Optional toppings

  • Maple syrup, chocolate sauce, or caramel sauce
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

1. Prepare the cinnamon sugar

  • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Set aside.

2. Make the custard

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

3. Assemble the French toast

  1. Slice a pocket into each bread slice (or create a “sandwich” style).
  2. Stuff each slice with chopped churros and optional cream cheese/Nutella.

4. Dip in custard

  • Submerge each stuffed slice in the egg mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side.

5. Cook

  1. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook stuffed French toast 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.

6. Coat in cinnamon sugar

  • Immediately sprinkle or roll the hot French toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

7. Serve

  • Plate and drizzle with maple syrup, chocolate, or caramel. Add powdered sugar if desired.

⭐ Tips

  • Bread choice: Thick, sturdy bread like brioche, challah, or Texas toast prevents sogginess.
  • Churros: Store-bought frozen churros are fine; just warm slightly before stuffing.
  • Crispy exterior: Cook on medium heat; too high can burn the sugar coating.
  • Make ahead: Prepare custard and cinnamon sugar in advance for a quick breakfast assembly.

I can also give a baked sheet pan version, a mini churro-stuffed French toast bites version, or a vegan/dairy-free version if you want.

Do you want one of those variations?
