Chicken wings

Posted on November 11, 2025December 31, 2025 by Admin

Oh yes — chicken wings are the ultimate crowd-pleaser! 🍗 Whether you love them crispy and classic, sweet and sticky, or spicy and bold, here’s a foolproof method for making perfect oven-baked wings (with sauce options for every craving).

🔥 Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

🧺 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2½ to 3 lbs chicken wings (split into drumettes and flats, tips removed)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda — this is key for crispiness)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper

🔪 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
    • Spray or brush the rack lightly with oil.
  2. Prep the wings
    • Pat wings very dry with paper towels — moisture prevents crisping.
    • In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, and seasonings until evenly coated.
  3. Bake
    • Arrange wings in a single layer on the rack (not touching).
    • Bake for 40–45 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
    • For extra crispiness, broil the last 2–3 minutes.
  4. Sauce ’em up
    • Toss wings in your favorite sauce right before serving — or serve sauces on the side for dipping.

🍯 Popular Wing Sauces

🔥 Buffalo Sauce (classic)

  • ½ cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar (optional)
→ Whisk together, toss with wings while warm.

🍯 Honey Garlic Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tsp water (optional, to thicken)
→ Simmer until thickened, then coat wings.

🧄 Garlic Parmesan Wings

  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp parsley
→ Toss wings in butter and garlic, then sprinkle Parmesan on top.

🌶️ Sweet & Spicy Asian Glaze

  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
→ Simmer 5–7 minutes until syrupy, then toss wings.

💡 Tips for the Best Wings

  • Baking powder trick: raises the pH, helping the skin crisp beautifully.
  • Don’t overcrowd: space them out so air circulates.
  • Air fryer option: 400°F for 18–22 minutes, shaking halfway.
  • Toss wings in sauce after baking to keep them crisp.
