Juicy, Foolproof Chicken Breast (Stovetop)

Ingredients

  • 1–2 chicken breasts
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional flavor: garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, or lemon

Steps

  1. Pound or butterfly the chicken so it’s even thickness (this is the secret).
  2. Pat dry, season generously on both sides.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high with a little olive oil.
  4. Cook 5–7 minutes per side (don’t move it too much), until golden and internal temp hits 165°F / 74°C.
  5. Rest 5 minutes before slicing.

Easy Variations

  • Oven-baked: 400°F (205°C), 20–25 min
  • Shredded for soups/salads: Simmer gently in salted water or broth 12–15 min, then shred
  • Flavor boost: Finish with butter + garlic, or a squeeze of lemon
