This Cheesy Garlic Butter Lobster Tails recipe is rich, dramatic, and way easier than it sounds.
Cheesy Garlic Butter Lobster Tails
Ingredients (serves 2–4)
- 2–4 lobster tails
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp paprika (smoked if you have it)
- Salt & black pepper
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella (or mozzarella + provolone)
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan
- Optional extras: chili flakes, lemon zest, parsley

- Butterfly the tails
Using kitchen scissors, cut down the top of the shell. Gently loosen the meat and lift it to sit on top of the shell. - Season
Place tails on a baking sheet. Lightly season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Garlic butter magic ✨
- Mix melted butter, garlic, and (optional) chili flakes or lemon zest.
- Brush generously over the lobster meat.
Cheese time 🧀
- Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each tail.
- Finish with Parmesan on top (this gives that golden crust).
Bake + broil
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes, until lobster is opaque.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned—watch closely!
Finish
- Sprinkle with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Pro tips
- Lobster is done at 140°F / 60°C—don’t overcook or it’ll toughen.
- For extra decadence: mix a little cream cheese into the butter before brushing.
- Serve with steak, mashed potatoes, or garlic bread (because balance is fake).
