Here’s a classic Cheesy Casserole—rich, bubbly, and total comfort food 🧀🔥
(This is a versatile base you can customize easily.)


Easy Cheesy Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked pasta or rice
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, beef, or ham (optional)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken or mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Colby-Jack, or mozzarella), divided
  • 1 cup frozen or cooked vegetables (broccoli, corn, peas)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Optional Topping

  • ½ cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prep
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Mix
    • In a large bowl, combine pasta/rice, meat, soup, sour cream, 1½ cups cheese, vegetables, and seasonings.
  3. Assemble
    • Spread mixture evenly in dish.
    • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
    • Add cracker topping if using.
  4. Bake
    • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  5. Serve
    • Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

  • Cheesy potato casserole: Use hash browns instead of pasta
  • Broccoli cheese casserole: Skip meat, add extra broccoli
  • Mexican cheesy casserole: Add taco seasoning + pepper jack
  • Breakfast casserole: Add eggs and breakfast sausage
