🥩 Cheesy Cajun Steak Linguine in Spicy Garlic Butter Cream

⭐ Ingredients (serves 4)

For the Steak

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank), sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter

For the Pasta + Sauce

  • 12 oz linguine
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (add more for extra heat)
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or pasta water)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (or Monterey Jack for meltiness)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, brightens)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

🔥 Instructions

1. Cook the linguine

  • Boil linguine in salted water until al dente.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

2. Season the steak

  • Toss sliced steak with Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Set aside.

3. Sear the steak

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet on medium-high heat.
  2. Add steak in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
  3. Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still tender.
  4. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.

4. Make the spicy garlic butter cream sauce

  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium.
  2. Add butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes; sauté until fragrant (30 seconds–1 minute).
  3. Stir in Cajun seasoning.
  4. Pour in heavy cream + chicken broth.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Stir in Parmesan until melted.
  7. Add mozzarella and stir until the sauce becomes creamy and cheesy.
  8. Add pasta water if sauce is too thick.

5. Combine everything

  1. Add the cooked linguine to the sauce and toss to coat.
  2. Return the seared steak to the pan.
  3. Add salt, pepper, and lemon juice (optional).
  4. Let everything warm together 1–2 minutes.

6. Serve

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra grated Parmesan.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the spicy creamy Cajun goodness!

⭐ Tips

  • Want it spicier? Add extra Cajun seasoning, cayenne, or red pepper flakes.
  • Add veggies: Sauté mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers before making the sauce.
  • Creamier sauce: Add 2 oz cream cheese into the sauce.
  • Steak alternative: Swap steak for chicken, shrimp, or sausage.
