Cheese bread

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Cheese Bread—soft, cheesy, and perfect as a snack or side.


Ingredients (makes 12–16 rolls)

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (120 g) shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper cups.
  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
    • Stir in the shredded cheese.
  3. Mix wet ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, oil (or butter), and egg.
  4. Combine:
    • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. The batter will be thick but slightly sticky.
  5. Fill the tin:
    • Spoon batter into muffin tin, filling about ¾ full.
    • Optional: sprinkle Parmesan or extra cheese on top.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake 18–22 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Serve:
    • Let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with butter, soups, or salads.

✨ Tips:

  • For extra cheesy pull-apart bread, fold some cheese into the center of each muffin before baking.
  • You can add herbs like garlic powder, chives, or oregano for more flavor.
  • If you prefer a slightly crispier top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
