Cheese bread

Posted on November 7, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a classic Cheese Bread recipe — soft, buttery, and packed with melty, cheesy goodness. 🧀🍞 Perfect alongside pasta, soup, or as a snack all by itself!

🧈 Cheese Bread Recipe

Servings: 8–10
Prep time: 15 min
Bake time: 25–30 min

🧀 Ingredients

For the bread:

  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix — plus extra for topping)
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) melted butter or oil

Optional add-ins:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped herbs (parsley, chives, oregano)
  • A pinch of chili flakes for a little heat

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
    • Stir in the shredded cheese and any herbs or seasonings you like.
  3. Add wet ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
    • Pour into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined (don’t overmix).
  4. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Sprinkle extra cheese on top for a golden, gooey crust.
    • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool & serve:
    • Let cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve warm with butter — or with marinara or soup for dipping.

💡 Tips

  • Use sharp cheddar for bold flavor or mozzarella for extra melty pull.
  • You can make this as cheese muffins — bake in a muffin tin for about 18–20 minutes.
  • Add chopped jalapeños, bacon bits, or green onions for a savory twist.

Would you like me to give you a Brazilian cheese bread (Pão de Queijo) version too? It’s naturally gluten-free and super chewy and cheesy. 🇧🇷
