🌶️ Cajun Shrimp Pasta

🦐 Ingredients
For the shrimp:

1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade, see below)

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp butter
For the pasta:

8 oz (225 g) fettuccine or linguine
-
1 tbsp butter
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 small onion, diced
-
1 red bell pepper, sliced
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
-
½ cup (120 ml) chicken broth (or pasta water)
-
½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
-
1–2 tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
-
Salt & black pepper to taste
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (optional)

Mix together:
-
1 tbsp paprika
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
1 tsp dried thyme
-
1 tsp dried oregano
-
½ tsp cayenne pepper (more for heat)
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp salt
👩🍳 Instructions

Cook the pasta:
Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain, reserving about ½ cup of pasta water. Set aside. -
Cook the shrimp:

Toss shrimp with 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning.

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.

Remove and set aside.

Make the sauce:
-
In the same skillet, add butter and olive oil.

Sauté onion and bell pepper for 3–4 minutes until softened.

Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, and Cajun seasoning. Bring to a simmer.

Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine:

Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce. Toss to coat.

Add a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

Simmer 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through.

Serve:

Garnish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Serve hot!
