Here’s a Cajun Honey Butter Salmon that’s sweet, spicy, and ready in about 20 minutes—perfect for weeknights but impressive enough for guests.


Cajun Honey Butter Salmon

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (5–6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

1. Season the Salmon

  • Pat salmon dry.
  • Rub with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle evenly with Cajun seasoning and a light pinch of salt and pepper.

2. Sear the Salmon

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add salmon skin-side down and cook 4–5 minutes until crispy.
  • Flip and cook another 2–3 minutes until just cooked through.
  • Remove salmon to a plate.

3. Make the Honey Butter Sauce

  • Lower heat to medium.
  • Add butter to the same skillet.
  • Once melted, add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in honey and lemon juice; simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Finish

  • Return salmon to the skillet.
  • Spoon the sauce over the fillets and cook 1 more minute.

Tips & Variations

  • Spicier: Add cayenne or hot sauce.
  • Sweeter: Add another drizzle of honey.
  • Oven method: Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 12–15 minutes, then drizzle with sauce.
  • Air fryer: 390°F for 8–10 minutes; brush with sauce at the end.

Serve With

  • Garlic mashed potatoes
  • Rice or dirty rice
  • Roasted asparagus or green beans
  • Cornbread or hushpuppies
