Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Posted on March 26, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious Brown Sugar Pork Chops recipe that’s sweet, savory, and easy to make:

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Seasoning
    • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Season the Pork Chops
    • Rub the seasoning mixture evenly on both sides of the pork chops.
  3. Cook the Pork Chops
    Option 1 – Pan-Seared:

    • Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Cook pork chops 4–5 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
      Option 2 – Oven-Baked:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Sear pork chops in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side, then transfer to oven for 10–12 minutes until done.
  4. Rest & Serve
    • Let pork chops rest 5 minutes before serving to lock in juices.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Tips for Success

  • Don’t overcook: Pork chops can dry out quickly; use a meat thermometer if possible.
  • Caramelization: The brown sugar will caramelize nicely during cooking, giving a slightly crispy, sweet crust.
  • Optional Twist: Add a splash of apple cider or balsamic vinegar to the pan for a tangy glaze.

💡 Quick Hack: For extra flavor, marinate pork chops in brown sugar, mustard, and soy sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. It adds a deeper sweet-savory taste.

I can also make a slow-cooker brown sugar pork chops version that’s super tender and perfect for busy days. Do you want me to do that?
