Here’s a delicious homemade recipe for Chocolate Turtle Candy—a classic treat made with caramel, pecans, and chocolate:

Chocolate Turtle Candy

Ingredients (makes ~15–20 candies):

  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves
  • 1 cup soft caramels (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (milk or dark)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional, for salted caramel flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare pecans:
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Arrange pecan halves in small clusters (about 3–4 pecans each) shaped like little “turtles.”
  2. Melt caramel:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with cream in 20–30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Add caramel layer:
    • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of melted caramel over each pecan cluster.
    • Let it sit for a few minutes to firm up slightly.
  4. Melt chocolate:
    • Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth.
  5. Top with chocolate:
    • Spoon melted chocolate over each caramel cluster, covering it completely.
  6. Set:
    • Let candies cool at room temperature or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until firm.
  7. Serve & enjoy:
    • Sprinkle a little salt on top if you like a sweet-salty combo.

💡 Tips:

  • Lightly toast pecans beforehand for deeper flavor.
  • Use dark chocolate for a less sweet, richer taste.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for longer freshness.

If you want, I can give you a quick version using just 3 ingredients or a luxury version with homemade caramel from scratch.
