🥩🍤 Blackened Steak & Shrimp Alfredo

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes

⭐ Ingredients

Blackened Seasoning (or use store-bought Cajun seasoning):

  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2–1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice)
  • 1 tsp salt

For the Steak & Shrimp:

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip), sliced or kept whole
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 tbsp of the blackened seasoning (use more if coating whole steaks)

For the Alfredo Pasta:

  • 12 oz fettuccine or linguine
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan (freshly grated melts best)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp Cajun seasoning for spice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Pasta

  • Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, drain, and set aside.

2️⃣ Season the Steak & Shrimp

  • Pat steak and shrimp dry.
  • Coat with blackened seasoning on all sides.
  • Let sit for 5–10 minutes to adhere.

3️⃣ Cook the Steak

  • Heat a skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat with 1 tbsp oil/butter.
  • If cooking a whole steak:
    • Sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
    • Rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
  • If sliced before cooking:
    • Cook 2–3 minutes total until browned but juicy.
  • Remove steak from skillet.

4️⃣ Cook the Shrimp

  • Add another 1 tbsp oil/butter to the skillet.
  • Cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink and lightly blackened.
  • Remove and set aside.

5️⃣ Make the Alfredo Sauce

Using the same skillet (don’t wipe it—those spices add flavor!):

  1. Melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add Parmesan, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with:
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Optional 1/4 tsp Cajun seasoning
  6. Add cooked pasta and toss.
  7. Add pasta water as needed to loosen and create a silky sauce.

6️⃣ Assemble

  • Divide Alfredo pasta into bowls.
  • Top with sliced blackened steak and blackened shrimp.
  • Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.

🌶️ Tips & Variations

  • Creamier Sauce: Add a splash of cream cheese (2 tbsp).
  • Extra Cajun flavor: Drizzle a little melted butter mixed with Cajun seasoning over the top.
  • Vegetable boost: Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or roasted bell peppers.
  • Spicy option: Add extra cayenne or a dash of hot sauce to the cream sauce.
